New Trophy and New Stadium

There is a new trophy for the FIFA Youth Championship Peru 2005 and it was designed and created by the trophy makers and craftsmen Fattorini in the United Kingdom. Tom Fattorini insisted that youth and vitality were the main inspirations behind the design. "At U-17 level, the players possess so much talent and ability, it seems effortless. For us, it's about youth, so we tried to encompass the idea that joy of playing football was second nature to all the teams involved. We took the theme and created a concept which was to symbolize a dance, two opposing players linked in symmetry."

There is also one new stadium on display: the Max Augustin Stadium in Iquitos, which holds 23,000 people. The other four stadiums: The Estadio Nacional in Lima (47,000), the Estadio Mansiche in Trujillo (22,500), the Estadio Elias Aguirre in Chiclayo (22,000) and the Estadio Miguel Grau in Piura (21,000) all saw action in last year's highly successful Copa America tournament, which was won by Brazil.
